Warning signs
- Betting more than the planned bankroll for the session.
- Chasing losses — increasing stake sizes to recover.
- Betting money needed for rent, food, school fees, or repayments.
- Hiding the activity from family or partner.
- Borrowing money to bet.
- Feeling anxious, irritable, or sleepless when not betting.
- Lying to yourself about how much was wagered last month.
Any one of those is a flag. Two or more is a signal to step back.
Step back now. The earlier the intervention, the more effective. Use the deposit-limit tools or the Mental Health Authority Ghana helpline. Don’t wait for the next “good week”.

Once self-exclusion is activated, the operator cannot reverse it for the chosen period — that’s the point. Use it when stepping back is the goal; use deposit limits for fine-tuned control.
